For noen uker siden kom LN-HOG tilbake etter et lengre opphold på Rakkestad. Sist flyet var her, var det lett gjenkjennelig og ganske unikt i fargene. Tilbake kom det som så ut som et nytt fly. Helt andre farger, og en finnish som ikke kan sammenlignes. I dag var det endelig vær nok til at jeg kunne få prøvd en liten tur i nye farger.

About one month and one week after the previous sitting, I was ready to give the last exam another try. I’ve spent a considerable amount of time in Aviationexam, and greatly improved my average score there. This time I had a good feeling, but the pressure of this being the final exam made me quite nervous.

Stenbäcks Flygmuseum is a relatively small museum, but what they lack in size they make up for in stories and number of various artifacts. We visited outside the normal opening hours, and got a private tour and got to hear the stories behind the various aircraft and aircraft parts/artifacts at the museum. Well worth the visit!

We have a very late summer vacation this year, and this year we went on a road trip to the Netherlands. While here, I figured it would be fun to get in the air if I could. Yesterday I did a flight at E-Flight Academy, and today I did a flight at Special Air Services - both at Teuge Airport.

When I realized that we would be staying right next to one of the World’s few electric aviation schools, I just had to make this happen!

Jeg har skrevet om det flere ganger tidligere (Leirin, Bømoen, Kjeller og Geiteryggen), den stadig voksende listen over truede småflyplasser. Luftsport er også sport, og flyplassene er våre idrettsanlegg - dette er våre fotballbaner, for å si det på et språk som alle forstår.

The Nationaal Militair Museum is a military museum, focusing on the Dutch military. The museum is situated at the old decommissioned Soesterberg Air Base, and there is a considerable amount of aircraft at this museum. The museum is very family and kid friendly, with a large playground in the center of the museum and a nice little café.

Aviation Megastore has been on my “must visit”-list for a long time. And since our vacation this year was a road trip to the Netherlands, I finally managed to add a short stop here to our plan.

Avidrome is the Dutch aviation museum, and in addition to being a very large aviation museum, a lot of fun for the entire family. The museum is very family and kid friendly, with a lot of activities and playgrounds spread out across the museum. The museum is spread across several buildings, with activities and aircraft in between. There’s also a nice viewing platform overlooking the runway of the busy Lelystad airport.

Aeronauticum is the official German air ship and maritime aircraft museum, located right next to a military base and a small GA air strip. The museum consists of a large outdoor collection of various aircraft, and an indoor air ship exhibit.

Årets sommerferie var noe seinere enn normalt, og i år gikk turen i bil fra Norge til Nederland. Vi hadde noen dager i Danmark på vei ned, og når vi først var stasjonert på samme sted over flere dager - passet det veldig fint å prøve å få til en liten flytur. Og det var akkurat det jeg gjorde, på Midtjysk Flyveskole på Herning flyplass.

The museum is located next door to the Stauning Airport, and is probably easier accessed by aircraft than by car. The museum is all indoor, spread across three different hangars connected together. There is a lot of general aviation aircraft in this museum, and even some gliders. Being within walking distance from a nice GA airport, makes this a nice destination for GA pilots.

Ten months after the previous sitting, I was finally ready to attempt the remaining four exams. Most of the summer has been spent studying, using mainly BGS webinars and Aviationexam.

Jeg hadde en løs avtale med Sola Flyklubb om at jeg kunne komme ned for å hjelpe til på deres årlige introdag, om det ble fint vær. Og så fint vær som det viste seg å bli, har vi vel nesten ikke hatt før i sommer. Da ble det tur til Sola da!

I fjor deltok jeg på Luftsportsuka for første gang, i år deltok jeg for første gang som ansatt. Starmoen ble min base hele den første uka i juli. Jeg har også deltatt i mitt aller første mesterskap, og fløyet en masse elfly. Været var ikke helt på vårt lag i år, men det ble flyging hver dag allikevel. Så da kan det ikke ha vært så alt for ille.
