Another flight from Teuge
| 2 minutes read, 358 wordsWe have a very late summer vacation this year, and this year we went on a road trip to the Netherlands. While here, I figured it would be fun to get in the air if I could. Yesterday I did a flight at E-Flight Academy, and today I did a flight at Special Air Services - both at Teuge Airport.
I checked one of the other schools at Teuge as well, but they didn’t have time for me (that’s what they actually answered). But luckily Special Air Services made it happen (after first cancelling due to reasons I still don’t understand).
The aircraft yesterday was a (almost) brand new Pipistrel Velis Electro, today it’s once again an old Cessna 172.
A sightseeing route
Today was mainly for just getting in the air, and as usual when you fly at random places like this - it was with an instructor. As an instructor myself, it’s actually quite useful to fly with other instructors. I pick up new ideas and small things every time. But since this was mainly for fun, we planned a simple sightseeing route.
I got to see a bit more of the country from the air, and learn a few things about the Dutch airspace. Like how they have class A airspace as low as 1500 feet!
They also have bridges for boats. This is a strange country.
I also got a good look at the Dolphinarium from the air, but I couldn’t see the dolphins. I was told they sometimes see them doing tricks as part of a show when flying past here.
All in all it was a nice flight, and I’m happy I was able to do it.
I try to do this when we’re traveling, both to get in the air (I don’t like to stay on the ground for too long between flights), see the places we visit from the air, get more experience, get more aircraft, airports and countries in the logbook - and to have fun! Would it be better to fly there myself, absolutely. But this is still better than not flying😎
