I've reached all my goals for 2023
| 2 minutes read, 282 wordsEach year, I set a number of aviation goals for myself. Things like number of hours, different airports, different aircraft, etc. And early in December, I finished the last remaining of my 2023 goals (when I did my last night flight of the year).
2023 has been my best year yet, although it doesn’t feel like it right now. With LN-GJP down for annual maintenance for the last three months, studying for the CPL exams, and an insane amount of bad weather, I’ve barely got to fly during the last four months.
I hope 2024 will bring more flying again, and much better weather than 2023 had! I have other exciting things happening in 2024, which I hope to be able to announce soon.
It’s been a great year
The two major events for me, aviation wise, in 2023 was doing FI training in Hungary and getting checkout out in the electric airplane LN-ELB.
Although the last four months have been extremely slow, this is still my best year yet. More than 150 hours, a lot of new airports, new countries, and even my first seaplane flight.
The CPL exams
I had hoped to finished the CPL exams, and be an active instructor in the local club by the end of this year. That unfortunately didn’t happen, for various reasons.
I still have four exams left, and the new plan is to be done with them before the next summer season. Hopefully in March/April. Let’s see how hard they are, I still have to study (a lot). I failed one of the remaining exams twice already, General Navigation, so I have to pass it the next time!
