The museum is located next door to the Stauning Airport, and is probably easier accessed by aircraft than by car. The museum is all indoor, spread across three different hangars connected together.
There is a lot of general aviation aircraft in this museum, and even some gliders. Being within walking distance from a nice GA airport, makes this a nice destination for GA pilots.
There is a little bit of everything in here, and in between all the aircraft there’s also a lot of various aircraft models - including several built in LEGO (makes sense, this is after all in Denmark).
You follow a marked path through the three main buildings, and the buildings follow a theme. You start with general aviation and civil aviation (including a part of an airliner, which you can walk into), then over to historical aircraft, before you finish in the military/jet/SAR hangar.
Gift shop
The museum has a nice gift shop and a small café, with various toy aircraft, models, clothing, books, and other aviation related items.
How much time should you plan to spend here?
You should plan around an hour or so.
Nice playground outside
For families, there’s also a nice playground right outside the entrance.
