Aviation Megastore
| 2 minutes read, 293 wordsAviation Megastore has been on my “must visit”-list for a long time. And since our vacation this year was a road trip to the Netherlands, I finally managed to add a short stop here to our plan.
The majority of the items sold here, are various aircraft models. But they also have other aviation items, books and even pilot gear. It feels like a small aviation museum with a huge gift shop.
Aircraft everywhere
You enter through a small display of various models, walking on a “runway”.
From there, you can take a left turn, and look through shelf after shelf with various models - sorted by manufacturer (of the model). Or you can take a right turn, and look at even more models, pilot gear, books and other aviation related items.
Various aircraft hanging from the ceiling contribute to the feeling of being in a small museum.
Plan to spend a while
We spent a lot more time here than we had thought, and that is normal here. We were looking for a specific model, which should be in stock according to the website and the staff - thee was one left. And I only needed one. Even with help, we just couldn’t find it. After a while, it turned out that someone else had picked it up around the time we arrived - and had walked around with it in the store for about half an hour while looking for more things to buy. The staff told me this was normal.
We just missed that model, but I found several others to add to my collection.
Including a model of the Antonov An-225 Mriya.
This was a fun aviation related attraction, I recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
